Is this the cause of Rosacea (I have since developed a condition I have personally termed “Bulbus” not to be confused with “Bulbii” = a serious condition caused by static water, in my case the protuberant underwear girls where i live whose stag-nation left behind in the Neon water washing machine on Saturdays, caused this swelling of the fingers, hands and palms of my hand(s) - primarily the right hand….treated with tea tree oil, penicillin, and borax (1 and 3 were my attempts to reduce the rash also -)

Recommendation is also personal - Now I use gloves for washing my face….otherwise, a rash appears - Anyone else with this condition, please leave a comment.

A-Z.com (amazon.com) was having a sale on black mud soap, rather expensive regularly but like 75% off - unfortunately, for one bar shipping would have increased the price considerably; and my rule for thumbing a-z is 95% of the time (otherwise fail), to complete only offers with free shipping $25+….

No sweat though, here to mention a site that I just located and when my special deal from Graveyard Mall is up (12 bottles of 8oz reg. $40 a cap (bottle) - for only $13 - FOR ALL OF THEM…all natural lotions from Tanline….they have Obey Your …? now on sale, about 70% off or something - it’s mainly scrubs though, but natural for the face….

But I was looking initially for coal tar - really got it into my head that this might alleviate some of the daily burn I’ve been experiencing along with mensus breakouts (painful postules) on my nose; and for some reason, maybe something I’d been eating but 3-4 weeks ago, started seeing tangelios (maybe that’s the correct term for the hard tiny white bumps, not whiteheads since they don”pop” but show up in a row, or several rows, just under my eyes/above the cheekbones…where rouge would normally go)…anyway, don’t know what precipitated the recent outbreak - possibly an overabundance of wheat in my diet combined with eating it before working out - i try to stick to corn and am otherwise a vegetarian - I also had some very good cottage cheese and unless it’s like corn chips - it is better to avoid dairy products altogether…yeast issues.

Okay, so I really recommend this site - having a 10% off sale, over their general sale and free shipping (believe it requires $25 purchase) at Creation soaps - check out their salves as well, all natural, and great price http://creationsoap.com/herbsextracts.html

Here are a few listings:

Jojoba 4 oz 828111 $8.95EXTREME SALE PRICE

Rosemary Coal Tar Soap 10221 $4.79EXTREME SALE PRICE

The Yahoo! forum dissuades nad even prohibits (though people sneak in their 2 cents worth) advertising 3rd party sites especially retailers who want to grab the next susceptible rosacean….

But, this cannot be avoided; and it may be lost in my bookmarks, even if the sale ends soon, it is still a good deal.

Leave your comment(s) if you try this site -

for shipping experience and overall quality of product.

Thanks.

A new forum post was emailed to me with my daily dose of Yahoo! and the Rosacea Forum; a viewer commented in on a new zinc alternative to ZenMed - the most popular rosacea topical over the counter (OTC) treatment I’ve yet to view online. It is something I have never tried myself, with a limited budget and the fact that zinc is available in different forms and appears something the body would better be suited for if taken internally. However, I have been suffering greater postule outbreaks on my nose (initially this was as a result of applying the synthetic topical treatment Metrogel, though any derm. has disagreed - but I am of Cherokee Indian descent and further refute this disagreement). Okay, so what occurs naturally, has been my interest.

I have used topical zinc, of course, it is loaded in sunscreens, and moreso I’ve used it with waterproof sunscreens (swimmers sunscreens) without any deliterious effects on my face, in fact, it has been very soothing if used in conjunction with Aloe. I have found a website for sports that advertises a mix of zinc (SPF sunblock levels about 25) and aloe…you can find it here at http://www.uniquesportsaccessories.com -labeled under “skincare” and “aloe”.

Now is the time of year for sales, and Amazon.com also has a nutrition drink, very cheap which would otherwise be an unaffordable splurge (still is since I am without a fulltime job); and the product referred to is a lemon drink with Zinc… The Emergen-C and other nutritional drinks are hard to find with any substantive amount of zinc included.

I am wondering if zinc, as a mineral taken internally would be considered a positive treatment factor like niacin?

Okay, here is the forrum link for the address to other more expensive zinc alternatives (forum posting #6077): for zinc substitutes http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/rosacea-support/message/102457

In any case, AT&T that really screwed around with my order, or I did, over the 2 days and 2 hours to request (using a 3rd party site for a promo that didn’t work out) - led to the last and hopefully successful conversation with the woman, I’ll call “Shirley”…

Now, maybe It will come to me, her name, but out of Texas and one of those towns you remember the name of, I just saw a long road and no Tele. poles so I suggested I knew someone there and mentioned M. Stripling and Aloemaxx - closer to the point, Rosacea. (more…)

An anon blogger sent me an amusing video that allows all persons to carve a pumpkin (no test after for rosaceans LOL) click for video

EHow online has a nice step by step process to combat Rosacea with an at-home treatment. You can replace their “cucumber” peel, a facial treatment by using Pumpkin this time of year.

Soak a soft cloth in ice-cold water and apply it to the flushed areas of your face. The cold will constrict the blood vessels and reduce redness. (more…)

There is an interesting article on the Rosacea Support Forum, though it bears striking resemblance to advertising, the overall tone suggests that there is a link between Glucosamine and Rosacea for a method of treatment.

My comments are personal, in that I use the Glucosamine additive available in the popular Emergen-C zero calorie additive with water before a workout to combat the redness effect of physical exercise. The type of “Fizzing Drink Mix” has 500 mg Glucosamine & Chrondroitin. For some reason, this enzyme (yes, think it is an enzyme) is prohibitive for me in capsule form, it makes my nauseous but in this drink form with 1111% Vitamin C and B12 complex (416% daily recommended allowance), it is more than palatable.

HERE IS the basic article content, viewable online at the forum HERE:

spotlight on rosacure (synchrorose) silymarin + MSM, user reviews

Okay I have not read on MedMD or the Mayo Clinic about the similar organic makeup between MSM (Methylsulfonylmehtane) and Glucosamine, but I think they are somewhat similar in “class” for being a compound to treat inflammation.

I used to order quite a bit from a website which offers a forum and many well intentioned advice for Rosacea sufferers as well as for many other ailments associated with blood, circulation, heart and general well being. I was dealing with Rosacea and a heart condition as well as arthritis so it prompted me to order quite a bit from this religious affiliated site. I would highly recommend this site (and the sign-up forum, though this site has changed, I think the forum still exists) at PC NetworX, http://www.msm-msm.com, for the COST EFFECTIVENESS, variety of treatment forms (powder, capsule, liquid, etc…) and associated advice for compounding types of treatment; both topical and ingestible.

This is just a quick response to the pseudo ad with the useful wikipedia links online. It is quite expensive to continue trying products – they should offer samples for the new innovations.

Comments, of course, are welcome.

Oh Yoli.
You poor thing. I know exactly how you feel. For me the burning bit is the worst thing. You must try to be really, really gentle with your skin. Maybe you should try to apply just some distilled water and as little cream/moisturisers as possible as your skin seems to be very reactive to any kind of topical. That does happen.

I think that the fact that you are doing sports again is a very good thing. If even when you don’t do anything it burns you might as well get active again. At least your body will feel better. I remember getting real stressed out initially when I was told it’s incurable. I tell you, these doctors sometimes should really improve their communication skills. Their approach should be more about teaching patient that it’s a condition which can be managed successfully but that it does take time yo achieve that goal as everyone is unique.

Carry on venting if it helps you feel better.
Take care.

I am interested to participate in the trial treatment programme as advertised. I am a 41 year old male and unexpectedly got this red rosacea on either side of my mouth. I am desperate to get rid of it - as many other probably are, and will participate in any treatment program.

Kind regards

Re: Aloe vera company seeks participants for Rosacea study

Postby mauismom on Mon Aug 11, 2008 3:03 pm
Hi everyone - this is my first time posting a message. I have been reading posts for awhile now trying to find any information that would help me. When I read about the Aloemaxx study I wanted to participate - now I want to share my results. I started taking the Aloemaxx capsules and using the skin gel three and one-half months ago. I noticed results within a few days and my skin continues to improve. The redness and itchiness have diminished noticeably. I still have flareups, but now a flareup is far less intense than before Aloemaxx, flareups do not last as long, and the amount of time between flareups is increasing. Most of the time my skin looks and feels “normal”. I use a tinted moisturizer for minimal coverup and when I look in the mirror I am usually happy with what I see. When I began the study I didn’t change anything about my regimen except adding the Aloemaxx, which convinces me the Aloemaxx is working. I also have ocular rosacea which causes me a lot of pain and, in my mind, disfigurement when my eyes are red and swollen. As the intensity of my skin flareups has decreased, so has the intensity of my eye discomfort. Overall my rosacea symptoms have become a lot more tolerable, I feel better, I look better. I wrote this post because I hope the information will help someone else.

Dear Mark and Aloemaxx, Attached are before and after pictures of me (I believe you will be able to tell which one is which)

I am amazed of the transformation. I was diagnosed with Rosacea by my Dermatologist. I have gone years with what I thought was adult acne, people at work and family would sometimes ask what was wrong with my face…my nose was always red it seems. After about a week or so of using the combination of the topical and oral Aloemaxx products my face started clearing and after one month I can say its the best its looked in a very very long time. My wife is amazed also, she says even my enlarged pores on my face are going away…I noticed this also but I’m not sure why…I hope this is a side effect! I can recall having two slight breakouts during the coarse of using the products. I feel that is was a combo of diet and stress related. However the outbreak was very short and within a day gone and hardly could notice it at all.

Again thank you very much for the great products…Like they say a picture is worth a thousand words… incredible results I think….

Best Regards,

If you have dry skin you might want to try using just pure mineral oil as discussed by Artist in this thread. She also uses microfiber cloths that are much more gentle than cotton or tissues. If you apply that before Noritrate it might make it more bearable.
You could also ask your doctor to try metrocream instead. No guarantee as always but worth a try.
